New Website Design

Okay, so we have a new site. This should be easier to update regularly and keep clean. Let us know if you like the new feel after surfing around a bit. We got rid of the Flash and tried to simplify the overall design so it would require less stylistic maintenance as new trends come and go. We were going for classy, tidy, and energetic... So, help us stick to those goals. It is sorta sad how much time things like websites and paperwork take when all you really want to do is play and talk about games.

The picture above is the view from Calvin’s office on campus. Lovely, huh? Construction never stops.

Trying to keep things tidy and professional, without any flashy buttons or gimmicks. Let us know if you like the new look. There may be some construction going on over the next couple weeks: Updating links, adding download content, fixing load times, etc. Thank you for the patience.

Early Dark Character Creation Companion

The Character Creation Companion is the first supplement for the Early Dark Corebook, and it’s available for FREE. We heard from some of the guys over at Story-Games that character creation needed more examples so we started work on this right away. Two weeks and some botched audio-recording projects later, the CCC is out and available for download.

Follow three players and a Scribe as they decide how to weave the campaign's Scenario and how to begin the adventure. You will find extra information on several character creation choices, where the strategy lies in fleshing out the initial Epithet, and how to make the most of starting Alignments.

In addition to extensive examples, the Character Creation Companion reproduces most of the charts needed to build a character. No more fighting over the Early Dark Corebook when three or four players are choosing Arts and Milieus! This 28-page pamphlet is perfect for Scribes who want to put NPCs together on the fly or for experienced players making a second or third character. The Early Dark Character Creation Companion can even act as an introduction to the world of the Hara Sea, an extended preview of the Early Dark RPG itself.

We put together the Character Creation Companion to give players an extended example of an entire group creating characters. This 28-page booklet is available FREE at DriveThruRPG and includes tips on choosing Alignments, building the first Epithet, and more.

Cleaning Out the Forums

Spammers are never good, even if the drugs they’re selling sound curious or you find the Cyrillic alphabet fascinating.

Our forum was hit with spam bots early this year, and after many months of manual booting and deleting, we had to do something more drastic. To clean things up, we deleted all members with zero posts and set higher restrictions on becoming a member. Hopefully, changing the URL will help prevent any of the spammers (who got our address from who-knows-where) from finding us again. We’ll all just have to be careful about posting links to the forum.

Hopefully, in the future we’ll have an all-new forum with better security and more useful functions (still having trouble posting pics and things on this one). We’re amping up the living campaign and working on the first two supplements now, but we understand the importance of having a forum where players can get together and discuss the games, offer feedback, and organize their gaming. Please bear with us as we get the overhead in place for our little indie effort. Everyone involved in Anthropos Games has full-time jobs, and sometimes we can’t always afford the state-of-the-art tech we’d really like (such as vBulletin).
